Johann Zarco of Pramac took pole for the British MotoGP at Silverstone, round 12 of 20 in the 2022 World Championship. The Frenchman set a lap time of 1:58.778, over three-tenths of a second faster than Maverick Viñales of Aprilia Racing. Pol Espargaro of Repsol Honda qualified sixth after a high-speed crash in FP4 during which he exceeded 115mph during the accident.

Zarco's pole position is his second of the season, and he will be looking to convert it into his first victory of the year. Viñales will be looking to challenge for the win from second on the grid, while Espargaro will be hoping to recover from his crash and score some valuable points.
